Quartet San Francisco Returns to Perform Concert
Postponed by Blizzard of 2011
April 17, 3:30p, Williams Theatre, Tulsa PAC
"QSF comes out of the chamber with strings blazing."

The Blizzard of 2011 caused the cancellation of the second half of Quartet San Francisco's pair of Tulsa appearances, but we have rescheduled the three time Grammy nominees and International Tango competition winners for a special spring concert. Please note the change of date (April 17), venue (Williams Theatre, Tulsa PAC), and time (3:00p).
If you saw the Quartet perform with the Tulsa Symphony in January, then you know you want to come back for more. If you missed that January appearance, here is another opportunity to experience one of America's leading cross-over string quartets.
Quartet San Francisco expresses itself in its agility and standout virtuosic playing. As crossover specialists they excel in multiple styles - from jazz to tango, pop to funk, blues to bluegrass, gypsy swing to big band and beyond. Since its concert debut in 2001, Quartet San Francisco has offered its exclusive and ground-breaking literature to local, national and international audiences in a variety of venues that include tango and concert halls, jazz festivals, museums, and classrooms.
"When the music says swing, we swing. When the music says groove, we groove."

Tulsa Symphony Student Concert Preparation
Dan Call, retired Tulsa music educator and Tulsa Symphony Board Member, is available to come to your school to present a short program. Dan’s engaging program gives students information to ensure the success of both the performers and the listeners. He talks to the students about the power the audience has to make it a better performance by the way they listen with energy, imagination, knowledge and understanding of the music. Dan also plays sample recordings of some of the music that will be in the upcoming concert. A session lasts about 20-30 minutes and should be scheduled for no more than 40 students at once.
A pre-concert discussion with the conductor is also available for free to all concertgoers an hour before all performances.
Tulsa Symphony has a $6 student price that is available to both students and their families.
Call Mike at TSO to schedule Dan’s presentation for your class/school or to purchase student tickets: 584-3645 or mike.mcusic@tulsasymphony.org
